The Communities feature gives you a private, branded discussion space where members can post, comment, and interact - integrated with your CRM. It's the difference between selling a course and building a movement.
Go to Memberships → Communities → "+ New Community"
Name it (often the same as your course or brand)
Add a description and cover image
Set privacy: Public (open join), Private (approval required), or Paid (linked to a Membership tier)
Click Save
Channels are like topic-based discussion areas.
Announcements (read-only - you post, members read)
Introductions (every new member posts here)
Wins (member success stories - high engagement driver)
Questions (open Q&A)
Module-1, module-2, ... (one channel per course module for discussion)
Off-topic (water cooler)
Founder posts at least 3 times per week, especially in the first 90 days
Welcome new members BY NAME within 24 hours of joining
Ask open questions, not statements ("What's your biggest blocker this week?" beats "Hope everyone has a great week!")
Spotlight a member win every Monday
Run weekly office hours / Q&A in a video call (Zoom link pinned in announcements)
Don't allow drive-by self-promotion - set rules early and enforce them

Empty communities are worse than no community. If members join and see no recent activity, they leave and don't come back. For the first 90 days, the founder must post daily and personally welcome every new member. After 100–200 active members, momentum
Pin important posts to the top
Mute or ban members who break rules
Edit or delete inappropriate content
Set up keyword auto-flag for spam patterns ("DM me for crypto", etc.)
Assign moderators (can manage posts but not billing)
