Launch your community space

The Communities feature gives you a private, branded discussion space where members can post, comment, and interact - integrated with your CRM. It's the difference between selling a course and building a movement.

Create your first community

  • Go to Memberships → Communities → "+ New Community"

  • Name it (often the same as your course or brand)

  • Add a description and cover image

  • Set privacy: Public (open join), Private (approval required), or Paid (linked to a Membership tier)

  • Click Save

Configure channels

Channels are like topic-based discussion areas.

  • Announcements (read-only - you post, members read)

  • Introductions (every new member posts here)

  • Wins (member success stories - high engagement driver)

  • Questions (open Q&A)

  • Module-1, module-2, ... (one channel per course module for discussion)

  • Off-topic (water cooler)

Engagement drivers — the ones that actually work

  • Founder posts at least 3 times per week, especially in the first 90 days

  • Welcome new members BY NAME within 24 hours of joining

  • Ask open questions, not statements ("What's your biggest blocker this week?" beats "Hope everyone has a great week!")

  • Spotlight a member win every Monday

  • Run weekly office hours / Q&A in a video call (Zoom link pinned in announcements)

  • Don't allow drive-by self-promotion - set rules early and enforce them

WARNING — The dead-community problem

Empty communities are worse than no community. If members join and see no recent activity, they leave and don't come back. For the first 90 days, the founder must post daily and personally welcome every new member. After 100–200 active members, momentum

Moderation tools

  • Pin important posts to the top

  • Mute or ban members who break rules

  • Edit or delete inappropriate content

  • Set up keyword auto-flag for spam patterns ("DM me for crypto", etc.)

  • Assign moderators (can manage posts but not billing)
